Job summary

The City of Austin is seeking a Community Programs Coordinator to oversee a variety of community activities and programs. Under supervision or independently, you will develop initiatives, collaborate with local organizations, and assess community needs to connect residents with resources.

You will also recruit and supervise volunteers, help with budgeting, and support policy development while ensuring compliance with city regulations and reporting requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus three years of related experience (experience may substitute education up to four years).
• Ability to develop and implement community programs and coordinate with organizations.
• Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements community programs and activities.
• Coordinates with organizations to address community needs.
• Conducts needs assessments with residents and groups to identify resources.
• Collaborates to plan and improve coordination of services.
• Researches funding sources and prepares plans and reports.
