Job summary

The City of Boerne is seeking a Permit Technician in the Permitting & Code Compliance department. This role manages submittals and permitting processes for development applications, delivering strong customer service and technical support to ensure efficient review and compliance.

The position requires an associate degree in planning/engineering or related field, plus relevant experience. Proficiency in GIS maps and standard office software is expected; Texas driver’s license may be required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required with some advanced coursework in planning, engineering, or related field; knowledge of permitting and municipal ordinances preferred.
• One (1) year of experience and/or training in customer service, municipal planning and permitting, or local government, or an equivalent combination.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and information on applications, project reviews, procedures, and other issues.
• Use interpersonal, negotiation, and customer service skills with officials, staff, citizens, and customers.
• Provide technical support to Planning and Permitting by researching and summarizing data, preparing reports, and maintaining records.
