Job summary

City of Boerne seeks a Permit Technician to support the Permitting & Code Compliance Department in City of Boerne, Texas. The role focuses on providing excellent customer service while managing development applications and permit workflows in a fast-paced municipal office.

Responsibilities include data entry, report generation, and coordinating documents through the review process. Ideal candidates will have an associate degree and strong communication skills, with knowledge of local ordinances

Qualifications

• Associate degree in planning, engineering, or related field; advanced coursework preferred.
• Experience in customer service and municipal planning and permitting is desirable.
• Knowledge of permitting and municipal ordinances preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide information and assistance regarding planning and permitting issues.
• Manage submittal and permitting processes for development applications.
• Coordinate intake, recording and dissemination of documents through the review process in an efficient and timely manner.
• Enter permit data, process payments, generate reports, and maintain tracking of plans submitted from permit application to issuance.
• Assist staff in processing cases, including researching background information and creating maps and exhibits.
• Communicate effectively in writing and oral presentations; prepare and edit technical/staff reports.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
