Job summary

Orange County Public Library is seeking three Temporary Library Assistants for the Southern Library in Carrboro. The role involves general circulation duties, reference and readers' advisory, and technology assistance.

Evening and weekend availability is required, with SBI background checks for eligibility. The incumbents will support public service, help customers, process payments, and operate library systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform general circulation duties (check out/in materials, customer assistance, shelving, processing payments).
• Provide basic reference and readers' advisory services to the public.
• Assist with library technology and access to online accounts.

• Follow library policies and procedures during daily operations.
• Carry out related duties as assigned.
