Job summary

Charlotte Mecklenburg Library is seeking a Senior Access Services Manager to lead the Main Library Access Services Department and ensure welcoming, inclusive service for patrons. You will supervise staff, coordinate operations, and partner with other library leaders to grow services for Uptown Charlotte.

The role involves evening and weekend rotations, managing volunteers, and contributing to strategic initiatives across the system.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of library leadership experience, including 2 years in supervision.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Master’s Degree in Library Science or related field may be preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the Access Services Department.
• Supervise staff, hire, train and evaluate employees.
• Serve as Manager-on-Duty for Main Library.
• Collaborate to launch services and programs for a diverse urban population.
• Coordinate volunteers and trainings; manage outreach and partnerships.
