The Library IT Project Manager is a key member of a small, collaborative, andresponsive team responsible for the enterprise-wide administration and supportof multiple Library-specific technology systems and applications. This rolemanages and supports technology systems and initiatives across the Library,working closely with staff at all levels of the organization.
The position willeventually be based at the new Main Library, with a particular focus onsupporting its unique technology spaces, specialized systems, and audio/visualtechnologies, as well as those at ImaginOn. The Library IT Project Manager willalso provide technology assistance to Library customers when specializedsupport is needed.
Success in thisrole requires strong collaboration, communication, project management, andproblem-solving skills, along with the ability to work effectively as part of asmall team responsible for critical Library technology systems. The positionrequires regular coordination with Mecklenburg County IT and other internal andexternal partners. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required tosupport special events and technology needs at Main Library.
Minimum of five years of experience in project management or as a project coordinator
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, project management or related field
Combination of relevant education and relevant experience accepted? Yes
Proficient in various applicable computer programs including Microsoft Office Suite
Works in an office setting with moderate noise
