Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas (LANWT) seeks a dedicated paralegal to support civil legal services for low-income clients in North and West Texas. The role includes managing a caseload under attorney supervision, conducting intake, drafting pleadings, and coordinating with courts and social service partners.

Formación

• Associate's degree and paralegal certification preferred.
• Spanish fluency (verbal and written) preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; good communication.
• Ability to manage an independent caseload under attorney supervision.
• Familiarity with LSC regulations and grant requirements.

Responsabilidades

• Provide paraprofessional legal assistance to eligible clients in civil matters under attorney supervision.
• Serve as primary case handler or case support depending on office needs.
• Conduct client intake, screening, referrals, and maintain electronic case files.
• Assist with case development including client interviews, fact gathering, and research.
• Draft legal documents, file pleadings, coordinate hearings, and communicate with courts and clients.
• Support attorneys in client representation and outreach activities.
• Maintain up-to-date case records and track status and reporting.
