Job summary

Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas (LANWT) in Midland, Texas seeks a dedicated paralegal for our Rural Justice Grant program. The role supports attorneys, handles intake, case files, and assists across multiple civil practice areas, including housing, family, consumer, and public benefits.

This full-time, hybrid position requires strong organization, trauma-aware client interaction, and the ability to manage a caseload under supervision.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree and paralegal certification preferred.
• Spanish fluency preferred.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide paraprofessional legal assistance to eligible clients in civil matters under attorney supervision.
• Serve as primary case handler for designated matters with attorney oversight.
• Conduct client intake, screening, referrals, and maintain electronic case files.
• Assist with case development through client interviews, fact gathering, and research.
• Draft pleadings, orders, and other documents; coordinate hearings and filings.
• Support attorneys in client representation and outreach activities.
