Job summary

Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas (LANWT) seeks a dynamic paralegal to support a range of civil legal matters in a public interest setting. The role may function as case handler or case support, under attorney supervision, with a hybrid work arrangement in Lubbock, Texas.

You will conduct client intake, manage electronic case files, draft pleadings and coordinate hearings, while building relationships with social service agencies and ensuring compliance with LSC and LANWT policies.

Qualifications

• Associate degree and paralegal certification preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines under supervision.
• Experience with client intake and case file management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide paraprofessional legal assistance to eligible clients in civil matters under attorney supervision.
• Be primary case handler for designated matters as assigned.
• Conduct client intake, screening, referrals, and maintain electronic case files.
• Assist with case development through client interviews, fact gathering, and research.
• Draft pleadings, orders, and other legal documents; file with courts or e-filing; coordinate hearings.
