Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas (LANWT) seeks a paralegal to support civil legal services for low-income clients in North and West Texas. The role may function as case handler or case support, with supervision by an attorney and caseload management responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree and paralegal certification preferred.
• Spanish fluency (verbal and written) preferred.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to deadlines.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and related applications.
• Ability to manage an independent caseload under attorney supervision.

Responsibilities

• Provide paraprofessional legal assistance to eligible clients in civil matters under attorney supervision.
• Serve as primary case handler or support casework, managing caseload from intake to resolution.
• Conduct client intake, screening, referrals, and maintain electronic case files.
• Draft pleadings, notices, and other documents; file and coordinate hearings.
• Travel to courts and community locations as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of LSC regulations and LANWT policies.
