Employ-Temps is seeking a Property Manager for Public Housing in Akron. The role oversees daily site operations, staff supervision, and compliance to ensure safe, sanitary, high-quality properties and positive resident relations.

The position requires a Bachelor’s Degree with 3+ years in property management, plus HUD knowledge and certifications within 1 year. Local travel and a strong customer-service mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Public Housing Management Certification or ability to obtain within 1 year.
• Rent Calculation Specialist Certification or ability to obtain within 1 year.
• Knowledge of HUD regulations, fair housing, and landlord/tenant laws.
• Proficient in budgeting, compliance, and multi-tasking.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and housing management software.

Responsibilities

• Manage leasing, unit turnover, rent collection, lease enforcement, resident relations, and compliance.
• Prepare and manage budgets, monitor expenditures, maximize revenue, ensure alignment with asset-based goals.
• Coordinate maintenance, inspections, safety checks, and work orders to meet performance.
• Conduct move-ins, orientations, and inspections with accurate rent and security deposits.
• Maintain tenant files, prepare reports, and participate in audits.
• Handle resident grievances, hearings, and maintain relationships with residents and agencies.
• Lead new tenant lease-ups and show units as needed.
• Enforce leases and initiate evictions per policy and law.
• Monitor budgets, purchasing, and procurement compliance.
• Prepare monthly/annual reports and ensure audit readiness.
• Support resident engagement and attend Resident Council meetings.
