Job summary

BDO USA is seeking a Senior Consultant for Public Housing Authority engagements in the U.S. market. The role involves full-cycle general accounting and light consulting for affordable housing clients, including HUD-related reporting and compliance.

You will review workpapers, advise on programs, and help prepare subsidy applications while overseeing engagement budgets and timelines in a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• 3+ years of accounting experience.
• 3+ years of experience in public accounting preferred.
• 1+ year of supervisory experience preferred.
• Actively pursuing CPA licensing required.
• CPA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Makes constructive suggestions to improve client programs and policies.
• Reviews workpapers and other outputs that meet client requirements and PHA quality standards.
• Researches program regulations and presents findings to clients.
• Leads the preparation and submission of housing subsidy applications and federal funding.
• Provides basic and advanced accounting services including year-end and monthly reconciliations and HUD reporting.
