Job summary

Polk and Associates, PLC is seeking an experienced Audit Supervisor / Senior Auditor to lead HUD and affordable housing audit engagements. This role involves working directly with multifamily housing clients, supervising staff, and developing toward future leadership opportunities within the firm.

Ideal candidates have 5–8 years of public accounting audit experience with HUD audits, strong knowledge of HUD guidelines, GAAP, and risk assessment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• Minimum 4 years of public accounting audit experience.
• Minimum 4 years of direct HUD audit experience.
• Experience leading audit engagements and supervising staff.
• Experience preparing and reviewing HUD compliance reports.
• Strong knowledge of HUD Multifamily Audits, HUD Consolidated Audit Guide, Government Auditing Standards and Uniform Guidance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage HUD multifamily audit engagements from planning through completion.
• Review and prepare HUD compliance reports and related financial statements.
• Perform risk assessments, compliance testing, and internal control evaluations.
• Ensure compliance with HUD Consolidated Audit Guide, Government Auditing Standards, Uniform Guidance, and GAAP.
• Supervise, mentor, and review the work of junior staff.
• Manage multiple client engagements while meeting budgets and deadlines.
• Prepare and review audit workpapers and supporting documentation.
• Research technical accounting and compliance issues.
• Communicate findings, recommendations, and engagement status to clients and firm leadership.
