BDO USA is seeking a Senior Consultant, Public Housing Authority to manage full cycle general accounting and light consulting for affordable housing clients in a dynamic firm setting.

The role requires strong accounting experience (3+ years) and supervisory exposure, with CPA licensure pursued. Proficiency in MS Office and accounting software is expected, with opportunities to engage on HUD reporting and regulatory compliance matters.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, required; focus in Accounting, preferred.
• Three (3) or more years of accounting experience, required.
• Three (3) or more years of experience in public accounting, preferred.
• One (1) or more years of supervisory experience, preferred.
• Actively pursuing completion of CPA licensing, required.
• CPA, preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with accounting applications and research tools.

Responsibilities

• Performs and oversees full cycle general accounting function and light consulting for affordable housing clients.
• Review workpapers and other deliverables to meet client requirements and quality standards.
• Researches program regulations and presents findings to clients.
• Lead preparation and submission of housing subsidy applications and federal funding for programs.
• Provide basic and advanced accounting services including reconciliations and HUD financial reporting.
