Job summary

Middlesex County is seeking a seasoned fleet management professional to lead the Division of Central Vehicle Maintenance. Under the Director of Public Works, the Superintendent plans, directs, and manages operations, maintenance, replacement, and modernization of the county fleet, fueling, and EV charging infrastructure.

This role requires strong leadership, experience with public sector fleets, data-driven performance metrics, and a commitment to sustainability and workforce development.

Qualifications

• Ten years of experience in operation, maintenance, and repair of a large fleet; five years in a supervisory capacity.
• Experience managing a public sector fleet, fleet management system, telematics program, or fleet electrification preferred.
• Knowledge of fleet operations, maintenance, and fuel management; data-driven decision making.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Division of Central Vehicle Maintenance personnel and a diverse fleet across county departments.
• Direct operations including maintenance, replacement, and modernization of vehicles and equipment.
• Establish performance metrics and report progress to county leadership.
