Job summary

Berks County PA is seeking a Fleet Manager to administer the County Fleet program, parking, and related Facilities Operations in Reading, PA. This role requires leadership and strong organizational skills to ensure efficient, cost-effective vehicle and service operations across the County.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in logistics, business administration, automotive technology, or a related field.
• Five years of related supervisory experience.
• Experience with fleet management and budgeting.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Vehicle acquisition, evaluation, replacement, upfitting, GPS program, licensing, registrations, auctioning, insurance claims, fuel cards, MVRs, dispositions, and maintenance programs.
• Develops and implements preventive maintenance; manages costs; evaluates and replaces vehicles as needed.
• Maintain a complete, timely inventory of county vehicles.
• Coordinate annual vehicle acquisitions and convert department requests into vehicle specs for procurement.
• Liaise between department and customers; oversee Vehicle Rental Program and reimbursements.
• Assist in Fleet budget development and monitor expenditures; conduct cost-benefit analyses.
• Support parking, safety, and security of the Services Center parking garage; manage parking locations.
• Coordinate highway lighting programs and assist with Facilities Department oversight.
• Prepare repair/status reports; use CMMS and county financial systems for procurement.
• Participate in 7-day, 24-hour on-call rotation; perform other duties as required.
