Job summary

The City of Baltimore is seeking a Chief Fleet Officer - Operations Manager II to provide executive leadership for the Fleet Management Division, overseeing 5,600+ vehicles and a $75M annual budget. You will lead three Deputy Chiefs across Operations, Administration, and Support Services to ensure safety, efficiency, and high-quality service to 29 city agencies.

This role emphasizes sustainability, zero-emission vehicle initiatives, and data-driven management, with a focus on workforce

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with ten years of progressively increasing responsibilities, including four years of supervisory experience.
• Eight+ years of senior management experience in fleet management or large-scale operations.
• Experience managing multimillion-dollar budgets, contracts, and large technical workforces.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership, strategic direction, and oversight of fleet operations.
• Direct and coordinate three Deputy Chiefs for Operations, Administration, and Support Services.
• Establish policies, performance metrics, and standards for efficiency, safety, and service.
• Represent the Division with City leadership, customer agencies, and external stakeholders.
• Oversee emergency response readiness and 24-hour support for critical service needs.
• Promote innovation, sustainability, and data-driven performance across fleet functions.
