Job summary

State of Maine’s Central Fleet Management seeks a Fleet Operations Coordinator to guide fleet policies, authorize repairs, and manage vehicle assignments for state agencies. You will service a broad mix of electric, hybrid, plug-in, and standard vehicles, with responsibility for equipment and disposal at end-of-life.

You’ll work under limited supervision in a team of fleet professionals, ensuring accurate records and compliant processes across departments.

Qualifications

• Four (4) years in automotive service with one (1) year administrative experience.
• Ability to diagnose basic, electric, hybrid and plug-in vehicle problems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Determine and authorize repairs and maintenance by vehicle type.
• Receive, document, and register vehicles in service.
• Code and approve vehicle charges and invoices for timely payment.
• Analyze vehicle costs to determine disposition.
• Review accident reports and coordinate with Risk Management.
• Assign and supervise staff to ensure timely, quality work.
