Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant to implement the plan of care under the supervision of a physical therapist. This role involves educating patients and families, documenting progress, and delivering a range of therapeutic interventions to patients of all ages.

The PTA will adjust treatments based on patient response, complete daily notes, and participate in continuing education to meet program requirements.

Qualifications

• Requires an Associate's Degree and a qualifying field of study as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
• Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) licensed in IL (IDFPR) is required.
• BLS certification within 30 days per AHA guidance; board eligibility and continuing education in acute stroke care are expected.

Responsibilities

• Educates patients, families, and caregivers using effective teaching methods.
• Adheres to the plan of care and documents communications with the evaluating therapist.
• Completes daily documentation in the therapy EMR and coordinates with PT on interventions.
• Administers therapeutic exercises, gait and balance training, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and aquatic therapy when applicable.
