Job summary

Vanda Pharmaceuticals Inc. is seeking an experienced District Sales Manager to lead a specialty sales team in the Indianapolis district.

The role emphasizes building high-performing teams, driving above-average results, and managing relationships with healthcare providers and facilities. The DSM will oversee recruitment, coaching, and development of representatives, while maintaining strong clinical and business acumen in a fast-paced pharma environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree; Advanced degree a plus.
10+ years in pharmaceuticals industry with 4 years of Sales Management preferred.
Candidates with fewer than 3 years of leadership experience may be considered for the Associate DSM position.
Specialty experience preferred: CNS, psychiatry, schizophrenia, bipolar or depression, other specialty experience will be considered.
Demonstrated ability to recruit, retain and develop high performing team of specialty sales representatives.
Documented high performance of sales and leadership track record.
Driver's license and clean driving history.
Ability to secure and maintain reasonable industry-standard credentialing requirements of healthcare providers, customer facilities, and state/local governments.
Ability to build and sustain positive relationships.
Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal skills.
Demonstrate strong analytical and business acumen.
Must reside near major airport within the district.
Ability to maintain effectiveness and flexibility in an innovative work environment.
Experience in small company and start-up work environments.
Ability to travel up to 75%
