Job summary

Blanchard Valley Health System in Findlay, Ohio, seeks a Nursing Station Assistant to support the unit by performing clerical and receptionist duties, assist in patient care, and maintain the area under the supervision of the Director of Nursing or Clinical Manager.

Responsibilities include handling order entry and communications, assisting with room preparation and patient needs, restocking supplies, and enforcing unit policies to ensure safety and quality care for patients across ages.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Typing, Medical Terminology and Computer training or experience.
• Students in psychology, nursing, social work, criminal justice and administrative studies are encouraged to apply.
• Positive service-oriented interpersonal and communication skills required.
• Must demonstrate ability to provide age-appropriate care and assess patient status.
• Ability to interpret information for age-specific patient needs and follow area policies.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of office equipment and order entry systems to process orders accurately and timely.
• Processes patient, physician and staff communications in a timely, organized manner.
• Assist with patient care and room preparation as directed to address patient needs and safety.
• Orders and restocks office supplies to meet daily unit needs.
• Demonstrates knowledge of unit-specific competencies.
• Provides care appropriate to the age of the patient served and reports changes in condition or behavior.
• Adheres to organizational policies and procedures to ensure quality care and compliance.
