Job summary

Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services in Traverse City, MI is seeking a Psychiatric Support Staff to join our dedicated team. You will provide clinical support to medical staff, including prescription refills, vital signs, and medical history documentation, while performing general office duties and ensuring excellent patient experience.

Qualifications

• A minimum of three years of progressively responsible support services work preferred.
• Position prefers individual to be a registered or certified Medical Assistant.
• Ongoing CEU credit requirements must be met yearly.
• Experience in a behavioral health / psychiatric facility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Offers support to team (check in/out of patients, answering and triaging patient phone calls, and opening/closing responsibilities).
• Provides administrative support including answering questions based on knowledge, scanning and copying, letters of correspondence, monitoring psychiatry staff schedules.
• Check vital signs as assigned for people receiving psychiatric services.
• Complete phone triage, document calls, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.
• Maintain department files and sensitive records; support patient registration and insurance verification.
• May be responsible for data entry and maintaining medical records in Pine Rest EMR; release medical information as needed.
• Prepare medication refill requests; verify pharmacy information, last visit, last fill, insurance, pick up or mail.
