Job summary

Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services is seeking a Psychiatric Support Staff to provide clinical and administrative support within our behavioral health team in Traverse City, MI. You will assist medical staff with prescriptions, vital signs, medical history, patient registration, scheduling and data entry in the EMR system.

The role emphasizes compassionate care, professional communication and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Three years of progressively responsible support services experience preferred.
• Registered or certified Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred.
• Experience in a behavioral health/psychiatric facility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical support to medical staff, including prescription refills, obtaining vital signs, and recording medical history.
• Perform administrative tasks: word processing, filing, copying, mail distribution, and reception duties.
• Enter data and maintain medical records in the EMR system; assist physicians with charting and documentation.
• Prepare medication refill requests and verify pharmacy information (last visit, last fill, insurance, pick up or mail).
