Job summary

Merakey in Pennsylvania is seeking a Psychiatric Technician to administer medications and therapy, monitor patient responses, and maintain a safe, therapeutic environment.

You will observe resident behavior, document outcomes, and coordinate care with a multidisciplinary team. The role includes charting, staff training support, and leading duties when leadership isn’t available. Benefits and enhanced pay apply.

Qualifications

• Mental Health experience preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must have a verifiable High School diploma/G.E.D.
• Valid driver''s license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Administer medication and therapeutic treatments; monitor for side effects and report.
• Provide care respecting patient rights, safety, comfort, and therapeutic environment.
• Observe, document and report resident behavior.
• Monitor and document weights, blood pressure, pulse and respiration per MD orders.
• Communicate with coworkers and supervisors in a timely manner affecting patient care or well-being.
• Fill in resident charts.
• Assist in orientation and training of new staff; follow Merakey policies and procedures.
• Order refills of medications.
• Act as lead staff when Administr ator or Asst. Administrator is not available.
• Complete all other duties as assigned by the Administrator.

Position Details

The Psychiatric Technician will:

• administer medication and therapeutic treatments, monitor for potential side effects and report
• provide care in a manner that considers the patient's rights, safety, comfort and the overall therapeutic environment
• observe, document and report resident behavior
• monitor and document weights, blood pressure, pulse and respiration per MD orders and monthly for all residents
• communicate with co-workers and supervisors in a timely manner that affects patient care or well-being
• fillin resident charts
• assist in orientation and training of new staff members, understand, and implement Merakey policies and procedures
• order refills of medications,
• act as lead staff when the Administrator or Asst. Administrator is not available.
• complete all other duties as assigned by the Administrator.

PAY: Earn $18.50 an hour with the selection of enhanced pay.

SHIFT: 2nd shift- 3pm-11pm and every other weekend.
