Job summary

Merakey is seeking a Psychiatric Technician in Philadelphia, PA for full-time 2nd shift (3pm-11pm) with every other weekend. Responsibilities include administering medications and therapies, monitoring for side effects, ensuring patient safety, and documenting observations.

Qualifications

• Mental health care experience preferred.

• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Administer medication and therapies, monitor for side effects.
• Provide care respecting patient rights, safety and comfort.
• Observe, document, and report resident behavior.
• Monitor vital signs per MD orders and monthly for all residents.
• Communicate with coworkers and supervisors to ensure patient care.
• Fill in resident charts.
• Assist orientation and training of new staff; follow Merakey policies.
• Lead staff when Administrator or Asst. Administrator is not available.
• Complete all other duties as assigned by the Administrator.

Description

The Psychiatric Technician will:

• administer medication and therapeutic treatments, monitor for potential side effects and report
• provide care in a manner that considers the patient’s rights, safety, comfort and the overall therapeutic environment
• observe, document and report resident behavior
• monitor and document weights, blood pressure, pulse and respiration per MD orders and monthly for all residents
• communicate with co-workers and supervisors in a timely manner that affects patient care or well-being
• fillin resident charts
• assist in orientation and training of new staff members, understand, and implement Merakey policies and procedures
• order refills of medications,
• act as lead staff when the Administrator or Asst. Administrator is not available.
• complete all other duties as assigned by the Administrator.

PAY: Earn $18.50 an hour with the selection of enhanced pay.

SHIFT: 2nd shift- 3pm-11pm and every other weekend.

• Mental Health experience is preferred.
