Job summary

Velcro USA Inc. in Somersworth, NH is seeking a Manufacturing Associate for first shift. You will operate coating equipment, apply coatings to hook and loop fabrics, and ensure quality within takt time. Training at Velcro Manchester, NH for 4–6 weeks is required to start.

You will follow SOPs, participate in safety programs, and work in a team-oriented environment while upholding production standards and reporting issues promptly.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma / GED required.
  • Previous production machine operator experience preferred.
  • Hazardous Communications, Lockout required.
  • PIT certification must be obtained.
  • Comprehension of production travelers.
  • Ability to enter completed production data through Oracle database.

Responsibilities

  • Operate coating production equipment to apply coatings and adhesives to hook and loop fabrics.
  • Set up coater and mix adhesives or chemicals as required.
  • Report defective product or machine malfunctions.
  • Move materials between processes and handle WIP data.
  • Enter production data into Oracle database and maintain accuracy.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow all safety protocols.

Come and join our outstanding team today!***Job Objective:** Operate various coating production equipment to apply coatings and adhesives to hook and loop fabrics. Operator is responsible for making machine adjustments as required to maintain quality standards. Operator must maintain a clean work area, follow all company safety rules, while producing quality products on a timely basis, and perform other duties as assigned.\\*Will need to train at our Velcro Manchester, NH location for 4-6 weeks**Essential Job Functions:***Commitment to Safety** Demonstrates a strong commitment to maintaining a safe work environment by adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines.* Promotes a culture of safety within the organization by leading by example and encouraging others to prioritize safety.* Promptly reports any safety incidents or near-misses to the appropriate personnel and contributes to the investigation process.* Active participation in safety-related programs and initiatives is required as necessary. This includes involvement in the safety committee on a rotating schedule, as well as participation in Risk Assessments, Exposure Hunts, department inspections, and change management activities.* Follow SOP and verbal instructions and become certified to operate numerous coating lines to apply a variety of coatings to hook and loop tapes.* Emphasis must be placed on producing a quality product within set production goals.* Set up coater.* Mix adhesives or chemicals as required.* Report defective product or machine malfunctions.* Material handling, loading and doffing rolls from production equipment.* Move material between processes.* Relocating adhesive drums when required.* Entering production WIP moves into the computer.* Manually record additional production data as required.* Successfully work in a team environment that stresses inter-shift communication, cross training, and willingness to corporately work toward optimizing the operation.* Move chemicals and or waste within the facility.* Maintain the chemical storage area(s) and/or waste storage area(s) in a clean and orderly manner.* Packages, labels, and prepares wastes for storage and transportation as requested.* Inspects the facility and equipment regularly.* Consistently produce a quality product with in takt time set.* May perform additional emergency response activities, including assisting in stopping or containing a release, as directed by the emergency coordinator.* Ability to work well with others in a team environment* Full time presence required.* Ability and willingness to be cross trained in any other functions as required or requested.* Excellent attendance required.* Ability to work overtime as required or requested including extended shifts and weekends.* Additional tasks as assigned.**What You Bring (Qualifications):*** High school diploma / GED* Previous production machine operator experience.* Hazardous Communications, Lockout.* Powered Industrial Truck certification must be obtained.* Comprehension of production travelers.* Verify material to be processed.* Electronically enter completed production data through Oracle database.**Work Environment & Schedule:*** Onsite manufacturing environment with shift-based schedule.* Hands-on role with equipment operation and team collaboration.**Why Join Our Team:*** Work in a safety-first, team-oriented manufacturing environment.* Build valuable technical skills across equipment and processes.* Defined career path into advanced technician, lead, or specialist roles.**OUR COMMITMENT TO SAFETY AND EMPLOYEE WELL-BEING**Fostering a culture where people thrive - safely, purposefully, and with opportunity.
