Job summary

Moog Inc. in Buffalo, NY is seeking a Sr Planner/Buyer for Development Programs to lead end-to-end planning and procurement on prototype projects. You will collaborate with engineers to source materials, manage long lead times, and coordinate with outside processors on one-off development work.

The role reports to the Development Process Manager and is onsite on first shift. Ideal candidates have a related degree and ERP/MRP and Excel skills, with strong communication and organization to drive

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Analytics, Engineering, or related field with 2+ years experience, or an Associate’s degree with 4+ years experience.
Technical skills: Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems; Advanced knowledge of Excel.
Soft skills: Strong communication and organizational skills; Sense of urgency.

Responsibilities

Program planning and execution: Analyze engineering drawings and Bills of Materials to determine material and tooling requirements for new programs; develop and maintain integrated project schedules.
Strategic procurement: Source and purchase specialty components; manage Outside Processing (OSP) PO's; negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms to meet budgets and deadlines.
Supplier and quality management: Resolve supplier non-conformances in coordination with Quality and Supplier Development Engineering Team.
Inventory and systems: Use ERP/MRP systems to maintain data integrity for development parts; identify and mitigate risks with long-lead items or single-source suppliers.
