Job summary

Moog Inc. in Buffalo, NY is seeking a Sr. Planner/Buyer for development programs. You will collaborate with design and engineering teams to plan materials, source components, and manage long-lead times for one-off prototypes.

This on-site role reports to the Development Process Manager and focuses on end-to-end program planning, supplier qualification, and expediting parts with external processors to meet milestones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Analytics, Engineering, or related field with 2+ years experience.
• Associate’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Analytics, Engineering, or related field with 4+ years experience.
• Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel.
• Strong communication and organizational skills; sense of urgency.

Responsibilities

• Program Planning & Execution: Analyze drawings and Bills of Materials to determine material and tooling requirements for new programs.
• Develop and maintain integrated project schedules to ensure milestones are met.
• Monitor and report on development job status to Program Managers and customers.
• Strategic Procurement: Source and purchase specialty components per project specs.
• Manage Outside Processing (OSP) purchase orders, tracking and expediting heat-treat, plating, etc.
• Negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms to meet budgets and deadlines.
• Supplier & Quality Management: Resolve supplier non-conformances with Quality and Supplier Development Engineering.
• Inventory & Systems: Use ERP/MRP to maintain data integrity and mitigate long-lead or single-source risks.
