Job summary

Proton Cancer Treatment Centers in Nashville is seeking a Level I Maintenance Service Engineer/Operator to ensure reliable operation of proton therapy equipment and uninterrupted patient care during clinic hours.

You will perform routine maintenance on cyclotron, gantry, PPU and imaging devices, diagnose issues, support upgrades, document servicing, and adhere to safety and regulatory standards, with on‑the‑job and classroom training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or associate degree with related engineering/physics experience.
• Basic electrical and mechanical skills; able to troubleshoot complex systems.
• Experience servicing medical devices preferred.
• Knowledge of high voltage power supplies and cooling systems preferred.
• Familiarity with Windows services, basic networking, and DICOM configuration a plus.
• CT imaging experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication and documentation skills.
• Adherence to SOPs and safety regulations; PPE and safety harness use.
• Willingness to travel 5–10% annually.

Responsibilities

• Equipment Maintenance: Routine maintenance, inspections, and calibrations on proton therapy equipment.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical issues to minimize downtime.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct QA tests and maintain regulatory records.
• Patient Safety: Follow radiation safety protocols and coordinate with clinical team.
• Equipment Upgrades: Assist in installation and commissioning of new equipment.
• Documentation: Maintain service records and generate reports.
• Inventory Management: Monitor spare parts inventory via work orders.
• Regulatory Compliance: Stay current with industry regulations and QA requirements.
• Emergency Response: Respond to equipment emergencies to maintain uptime.
