Job summary

Provision Healthcare in Knoxville, TN seeks a Maintenance and Service Engineer II to oversee advanced maintenance of proton therapy systems, including cyclotron, gantry, PPU and imaging devices. You will mentor junior engineers, drive quality assurance initiatives, and uphold safety and regulatory standards.

You will lead equipment upgrades, documentation, and spare parts planning, while ensuring uptime and compliance in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Physics with 3+ years related experience; or an Associate’s degree with 5+ years experience.
• Advanced electrical and mechanical skills with troubleshooting electro‑mechanical systems.
• Experience installing, servicing and maintaining complex medical devices.
• Familiarity with CT imaging or other medical imaging technologies preferred.

Responsibilities

• Advanced maintenance, inspections, and calibrations on proton therapy equipment (cyclotron, gantry, PPU, imaging devices).
• Mentor Level 1 Engineers/Operators; resolve escalated issues and coordinate with other departments.
• Lead quality assurance initiatives; develop testing protocols; support regulatory compliance.
• Champion safety and risk management; follow radioactive materials handling and arc-flash safety rules.
• Oversee integration of new equipment and software upgrades; manage installation and commissioning.
• Maintain comprehensive service records and equipment performance documentation.
• Optimize spare parts inventory; forecast needs and reduce holding costs.
• Serve as SME on FDA and ISO QSRs for Medical Devices; participate in audits.
• Coordinate emergency response and ensure continuous service availability.
