Job summary

Brown University in Rhode Island seeks a Research Associate to independently manage LC-MS/MS proteomics and small molecule analyses from project design to closeout. Required: Master’s degree with 2–5 years’ related experience; strong MS/LC-MS, data interpretation, and communication skills. Fixed-term position with potential extension based on funding.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in biology, biochemistry, analytical chemistry, proteomics, metabolomics, or closely related field.
• 2–5 years related experience required with MS and LC/MS workflows.
• Experience with technical guidance and communicating results to collaborators desired.
• Knowledge of proteins, chemistry, and biochemistry required.
• Experience with small molecule/metabolite LC/MS analysis strongly desired.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects from intake to closeout in the Proteomics Core Facility.
• Perform LC-MS/MS acquisition, sample prep, QC, and data evaluation.
• Provide technical oversight and training to undergraduate researchers.
• Coordinate client consultations and project follow-ups.
• Maintain documentation in iLabs and ensure accurate records.
