Job summary

Discovery Life Sciences is seeking a talented Research Associate II to join the Proteomics team for a limited time. You will support sample accessioning, troubleshoot lab issues, and assist in reagent stock and ordering while contributing to multiple projects with senior scientists.

The role requires a biology or life sciences background, 1+ year lab experience, and proficiency in SOPs, pipetting, and MS Office. Excellent communication and independence are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biology, Life Sciences, or a related field.
• Minimum of 1+ years of laboratory experience
• Hands-on experience in standard investigative laboratory capabilities
• Research experience with basic molecular and analytical techniques
• Knowledge of universal precautions and handling human specimens
• Attention to detail and following SOPs
• Proficient in pipetting, documentation, and procedures
• Experience preparing chemical solutions and buffers
• Understand protocols and perform them consistently
• Time management and ability to contribute to multiple projects
• Strong verbal and written communication
• MS Word, Excel, Outlook proficiency
• Ability to work independently
• Proficient in writing SOPs independently

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Senior Scientists and sometimes independently to execute assignments
• Demonstrate initiative for taking tasks
• Engage with tasks both independently and as a team
• Assist in reagent stock and ordering
• Follow laboratory safety policies and procedures
• Operate laboratory equipment per protocols
• Perform sample preparation including accessioning and processing for analysis platforms
• Contribute to experiments and growing project scope
• Troubleshoot issues with help from senior scientists
• Review initial outcomes for quality and consistency
• Maintain accurate laboratory notebook and track work
• Ensure compliance with laws and company policies
• Maintain professional interactions with colleagues and clients
