Discovery Life Sciences LLC in Huntsville, Alabama, is seeking a Research Associate II to join our Proteomics team. You will support sample accessioning, assist in reagent stock and ordering, and contribute to cutting‑edge analytical workflows including mass spectrometry and multiplex platforms.

Required: Bachelor’s or Master’s in Biology or related field and at least 3 years of laboratory experience, plus strong documentation, SOP adherence, and MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of laboratory experience.
• Hands-on experience with standard investigative lab capabilities.
• Experience with molecular and analytical techniques.
• Knowledge of universal precautions and handling human specimens.
• Attention to detail and SOP adherence.
• Proficiency in pipetting, documentation, and procedures.
• Experience preparing solutions and buffers.
• Ability to follow protocols and manage multiple projects.
• Strong written and verbal communication; MS Office skills.
• Ability to work independently.
• Proficient in writing SOPs independently.

Responsibilities

• Work with Senior Scientists to execute assignments with care, efficiency, and proficiency.
• Demonstrate initiative for taking tasks.
• Engage with given tasks and responsibilities both independently and as a team member.
• Assist in reagent stock and ordering.
• Follow laboratory safety policies and procedures.
• Operate laboratory equipment according to relevant protocols and procedures.
• Perform sample preparation including, but not limited to, sample receipt, accessioning, plating, and processing for platforms such as Olink Explore, Olink Target, Luminex, and mass spectrometry.
• Have a primary responsibility for parts of experiments and growing responsibility for larger projects.
• Troubleshoot issues with help from senior scientists.
• Review initial outcomes for quality and consistency.
• Maintain an accurate and up-to-date laboratory notebook.
• Ensure compliance with laws and regulations applicable to the Company.
• Maintain professional and courteous interactions with co-workers, clients, and others at Discovery.
