Job summary

Brown University’s Proteomics Core Facility seeks a Research Associate to lead MS-based proteomics and small molecule analyses. You will design and manage projects, perform LC-MS/MS, and train undergraduates, ensuring high-quality data and client satisfaction.

The role requires a Master’s degree in a relevant field with 2–5 years of experience, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate results to scientific collaborators.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in biology/biochemistry/analytical chemistry/proteomics with 2–5 years of related experience.
  • Hands-on mass spectrometry experience and LC/MS workflows.
  • Experience guiding research projects and communicating results to collaborators.
  • Knowledge of protein chemistry, chromatography, and analytical techniques.
  • Familiarity with proteomics workflows and data interpretation is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare samples and perform LC-MS data acquisition and QC.
  • Coordinate project intake, status updates, and client consultations.
  • Provide training and technical oversight for students and staff.
  • Interpret results and communicate findings to collaborators.
  • Maintain accurate records and support core facility operations.
