Job summary

Glyphic Biotechnologies in Berkeley, CA seeks a Senior Research Associate / Scientist I to scale tissue and cell sample processing for proteomics. You will run high volumes of samples, support Orbitrap Astral Zoom workflows, and help ensure instrument performance while maintaining SOPs and cross-functional collaboration.

The role is in-person at our Berkeley location, with opportunities to grow ownership as automation comes online and proteomics workflows mature in our platform.”

Qualifications

• BS/MS with 2+ years (Senior Research Associate) or BS/MS with 4+ years (Scientist I) in proteomics or related field
• Hands-on LC–MS/MS proteomics experience
• Experience handling complex clinical tissue samples and cell pellets
• Proven ability to prepare and purify proteins and enrich peptides
• Familiarity with DIA data acquisition and proteomics workflows
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with occasional weekend hours

Responsibilities

• Prepare tissue and cell samples for MS-based proteomics, including dissection and pellet processing
• Perform protein/peptide enrichment and immunopeptidomics workflows
• Extract and purify proteins across diverse sample types using validated SOPs
• Utilize automation to achieve high-throughput sample processing
• Learn and troubleshoot Orbitrap Astral Zoom and maintain instrument calibration
• Collaborate with proteomics and cross-functional teams to maintain schedules
• Document methods and SOPs to ensure reproducible results
• Communicate proactively to surface issues early
