Job summary

The Jackson Laboratory is seeking a Research Technologist to assist scientists with proteomic and metabolite preparation, analysis, and routine lab maintenance. Meticulous record keeping and collaboration within the Protein Sciences team are essential.

Flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends, may be required. You will learn new techniques through training by senior personnel and contribute to accurate data reporting and project support.

Qualifications

• BS in biological sciences or 2+ years wet lab experience.
• Capable of understanding and implementing lab protocols.
• Mass spectrometry experience is a plus but not required.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct experiments and report results clearly.

Responsibilities

• Routine/non-routine laboratory tasks and instrument maintenance.
• Laboratory organization, sanitation, and inventory control.
• Work with LIMS and attend weekly group meetings.
• Perform SOP-driven experiments and learn new techniques.
• Prepare protein and metabolite samples and quantify results.
• Record keeping and reporting of experimental data.
• Collaborate with the Protein Sciences team and other members.
• Maintain reliable attendance and adapt to flexible hours.
