Job summary

The Jackson Laboratory in Bar Harbor, ME is seeking a Scientist to join the Core Scientific Services team in the Metabolic Phenotyping Core. You will lead in vivo metabolic phenotyping studies and collaborate with researchers across programs.

The role requires a Ph.D. or equivalent with 4+ years of experience in metabolic biology. You will develop SOPs, analyze data, mentor staff, and help drive innovations in phenotyping workflows.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required; Ph.D. preferred.
• 4+ years of relevant scientific experience in core facilities or CRO/academic settings.
• Experience with advanced lab technologies and data analysis.
• Track record of scientific contributions and project leadership preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute in vivo metabolic phenotyping workflows.
• Analyze, interpret, and communicate experimental data to diverse audiences.
• Evaluate and validate new technologies and workflows.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, QC, and best practices for data integrity.
• Troubleshoot technical and scientific issues; propose innovative solutions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on research initiatives and grants.
• Train and mentor staff, students, and lab personnel.
• Support strategic growth and continuous improvement of core services.
• Maintain compliance with institutional and safety requirements.
