Job summary

U.S. Electrical Testing is seeking a field-based technician to install, program, test, and maintain protective relaying and metering systems in transmission and distribution networks.

You will perform diagnostic evaluations, interpret schematics, and coordinate repairs to ensure system reliability. Responsibilities include testing relays, commissioning installations, and collaborating with engineers and clients.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of relevant electrical experience OR an associate’s degree with 2+ years of experience OR a bachelor’s degree with 1+ year of experience
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%–50%
• Valid US work authorization
• NETA / NICET certification preferred or equivalent hands-on experience

Responsibilities

• Programs, installs and maintains protective relaying and metering systems in substations and utility environments
• Test and repair relays and associated equipment to ensure reliability and safety
• Interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and substation drawings
• Coordinate testing, troubleshooting and repairs with other departments
• Maintain test records and comply with safety protocols (LOTO)
• Mentor junior technicians and participate in emergency call-outs
