Job summary

Shermco is seeking a Protection and Controls Technician in the Atlanta area. You will install, test, and maintain protective relay systems, RTUs, and telecom equipment for HV substations and clients.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in electrical testing with relays and substation experience, including SEL/GE/ABB, and can read wiring diagrams and reports. Travel and field work are required; OSHA training and a valid license are expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in electrical testing with focus on protection & control.
• Experience with transmission & distribution relays (SEL/GE/ABB/Westinghouse).
• Substation RTU’s, telecom equipment, and test reporting experience.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, test, and maintain protective relay equipment.
• Test protection and control circuits for transmission lines and substations.
• Upgrade RTU and telecom systems for clients.
• Work with SEL, GE, ABB relays and other vendors.
• Document test reports for client/regulatory use.
