Job summary

Shermco Industries seeks a Relay Tech/Protection & Controls Technician in Ohio to install, commission, test and maintain protective relay equipment, RTU systems, and telecom gear for utility clients. You will work with SEL, GE, ABB, and Westinghouse relays while handling field testing, documentation, and travel.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in electrical testing, substation RTU experience, and knowledge of NERC CIP requirements. Eligible for overtime and career development opportunities.

Qualifications

5+ years in electrical testing with protection/controls focus.
Experience with RTU, telecom equipment for utility clients.
Substation experience and project management exposure.

Responsibilities

Install, commission, test and maintain protective relay gear.
Perform functional tests on protection circuits for lines, transformers, breakers.
Review test reports and document accuracy for clients.
