Job summary

Alabama Power Company is seeking a Protection & Control Field Services Supervisor (Support) to lead the P&C FS Support group and ensure technical guidance, safety, and regulatory compliance. The role oversees budgets, asset management, and training, with preferred offices in Hueytown and potential distances to Montgomery, Headland, or Mobile.

Ideal candidates bring 4–8 years of P&C field test experience, strong knowledge of relays and protection systems, and a PE license is highly preferred.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Electrical Engineering degree required with 4 years P&C field test experience or Engineering Technology degree with 8 years P&C field test experience
• 8 years of combined P&C Field Services, Substation, Applications, or System Operations experience preferred
• Formal performance management/supervisory experience is a plus
• Extensive knowledge of protective relays, relaying schemes, and control systems preferred
• Active PE license is highly preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to P&C Field Services Support group
• Ensure safety is a core value and model Safety First principles
• Provide technical guidance on protection and control issues
• Ensure compliance with PRC-5, CIP, and other NERC standards
• Oversee P&C asset management and software application support
• Coordinate ITV of Farley work procedures and emerging P&C technologies
• Manage budgets for O&M and capital projects and support training programs
• Coordinate contractor resources as needed
