Job summary

Alabama Power is seeking a Protection & Control Field Services Supervisor to lead the Substation Integration & Automation group in Birmingham, AL. The role supervises engineers and technicians performing RTU commissioning and maintenance across the state, with after-hours on-call rotations and possible field work to support operations.

The candidate should have a BS in Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited) or Engineering Technology with extensive P&C field experience, and strong knowledge of

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree or Engineering Tech path with extensive field experience.
• 8+ years in Protection/Field Services or related engineering roles preferred.
• Experience in RTU testing/commissioning required.
• Knowledge of NERC CIP and cybersecurity in substations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the SIA Field Services team statewide.
• Ensure safe work practices and adherence to procedures.
• Provide technical guidance on RTU, IED, and SCADA coordination.
• Manage work plans, maintenance, and on-call rotation;
