Job Summary
We are seeking a Test Engineer – Protection & Control (P&C) with 0–3 years of experience to support the installation, testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of protection and control systems used in power substations. This role is ideal for early-career engineers looking to build hands-on experience in electrical power systems, protection relays, and control technologies.
The engineer will apply electrical engineering fundamentals and computer-based tools to ensure reliable operation of protection and control equipment, including microprocessor relays, PLCs, sensors, motors, and associated systems.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, test, and troubleshoot protection and control relaying systems and associated devices
- Perform calibration and testing of protection and control relays and related equipment
- Assist in developing, updating, and maintaining protection and control documentation
- Support assigned project leads with field activities and testing assignments
- Install, program, configure, and maintain P&C relays and devices
- Participate in process hazard analyses (PHA) and safety reviews
- Read, interpret, and work from electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Maintain awareness of current industry standards, technologies, and best practices
- Follow safety procedures and quality standards during field and testing activities
Required Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical Engineering preferred)
- 0–3 years of experience in engineering, testing, or a related technical role
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and drawings
- Working knowledge of PLCs and HMIs
- Understanding of AC and DC electrical systems
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to work in field environments such as substations
