Job summary

Qualus is seeking a Protection & Control Field Project Engineer in our Field Engineering department to lead complex electrical utility projects, manage day-to-day execution in transmission and distribution, and serve as the primary client interface from initial assessments and proposals to ensuring compliance.

The role emphasizes coordinating outages, procuring P&C equipment, and leading field teams with safety, quality, and timely delivery across challenging environments.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited electrical engineering degree emphasized in power systems is preferred.
• Experience reading One Line, wiring diagrams and BOMs.
• Ability to lead large projects and coordinate field teams.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate planned outages per approved plans and sequencing.
• Act as primary client interface from assessment to submittals and proposals.
• Procure P&C equipment and review BOMs for installation.
• Develop wiring sheets, terminations, and as-built records.
• Provide field leadership to wiremen and installation personnel.
• Verify protection schemes and relay coordination to ensure proper operation.
• Drive project execution with schedules and resource coordination.
• Collaborate to resolve installation and commissioning issues.
• Perform secondary circuit inspections, testing, and checkout.
