Job summary

Qualus is seeking a Protection & Control Engineering Manager to lead and grow the engineering team, setting technical direction and ensuring quality across multiple projects and offices. The role requires strong leadership, client engagement, and strategic oversight within the energy sector.

The manager will work closely with the Engineering Director to meet department goals, recruit top talent, and align resources with project backlog while maintaining a balanced workload across sites in the US.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited school (Master's degree in Engineering Management or MBA is a plus).
• Minimum 5 years in management within the energy sector.
• Experience in Utility protection and control engineering.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead recruiting, training, and supervision to build a high-performing engineering team.
• Provide technical oversight and strategy for protection & control engineering.
• Coordinate with offices and clients to ensure shared resources and project alignment.
• Develop relationships with senior clients and executives to support business growth.
• Oversee engineering processes to meet cost, quality, and schedule targets.
• Present technical solutions and respond to customer inquiries with clarity.
