Job summary

Qualus is seeking a Field Engineering Project Lead in our Field Engineering department to drive complex electrical utility projects. You will manage day‑to‑day execution of transmission, distribution equipment, and relay protection upgrades, serving as the primary client interface from assessment through project delivery.

This hands‑on role requires strong leadership, deep technical knowledge, and proven coordination of field crews, schedules, and procurement to ensure compliant, on‑time results.

Qualifications

• ABET/IEEE/EIT-like degree in electrical engineering or power emphasis preferred.
• 5+ years’ relay testing/commissioning or protection scheme design experience.
• EIT/PE preferred but not required; ability to read protective drawings and diagrams.
• Strong English communication and self‑driven problem solving in field settings.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Oversee electrical utility projects including transmission and relay upgrades.
• Act as primary client interface from assessment to correspondence and proposals.
• Review protection & control drawings and address design questions.
• Coordinate materials, crews, and field operations for outages and projects.
• Ensure compliance, organize bids, and manage schedules with operations.
• Lead meetings and coordinate with stakeholders to address project needs.
• Maintain client relationships and advocate for client operations.
