NY STATE ELECTRIC & GAS CORP is seeking an experienced Engineer in Protection & Control to design, analyze, and maintain protection systems for our transmission network. The role requires coordinating with vendors and internal teams to ensure safe, compliant operations.

Responsibilities include review of designs, development of technical specs, and leading contractors in automation work. Travel to sites is required on an as-needed basis, with growth opportunities and a clear career path.

Qualifikationen

• 4+ years of experience in Engineering or 1 year of experience in Protection & Control.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering / Technology; MS preferred.
• Fundamentals of Engineering exam preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of power system analysis and protection standards.

Aufgaben

• Perform design, estimation, and analysis of transmission and substation protection systems.
• Review and approve protection designs and contractor work for standards compliance.
• Develop technical specifications, contracts and purchase orders.
• Direct engineering contractors and consultants in system automation & integration.
• Travel to worksites as needed and support audits.
