Job summary

Pike Engineering is seeking an Engineer to provide substation protection and control design, engineering support, and project oversight for transmission substations, battery storage, and solar collector projects. You will advise on P&C issues, perform studies, and translate specifications into detailed drawings and layouts for construction.

Collaboration across disciplines is essential and customer standards must be met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program or approved NCEES evaluation of non-ABET credentials
• 0 to 2 years’ experience as a practicing engineer
• Understanding of basic engineering theories and principles

Responsibilities

• Design protection schemes for substation and transmission line equipment, including bus, line, capacitor and transformer protection schemes and settings
• Understand SCADA communication design and related systems
• Develop understanding of protection and control design for facilities up to 500kV, including one and three line diagrams, schematics and wiring diagrams
• Perform studies and generate reports for coordination, voltage drop, fault current, and insulation coordination
• Interpret specifications and implement them on engineering drawings and check designs for accuracy
