Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a Propulsion Test Engineer to lead live engine tests, design test racks, and develop Python-based test software on Linux systems. You will own test setup safety, run procedures, and data acquisition for propulsion systems and micro-turbojets, collaborating with propulsion development engineers to adapt tests as designs evolve.

You will manage test campaigns, analyze telemetry, and drive improvements in test cell turnaround and safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years in propulsion testing, hardware-in-the-loop, or engine test cell operations.
• Direct hands-on experience with micro-turbojet engine testing.
• Experience as Test Director or lead test engineer during live engine runs.
• Proficient in Python for automated test, control, and data acquisition in Linux/Unix.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Test Director during engine and micro-turbojet hot-fire runs.
• Design, build, and maintain propulsion test hardware infrastructure.
• Write propulsion test plans, procedures, and acceptance criteria.
• Develop automated test software on Linux/Unix to control engine profiles and telemetry.
• Debug CAN bus communications with ECUs, actuators, and test stand controllers.
• Calibrate propulsion instrumentation and sensors.
• Operate Linux/Unix test systems via CLI, SSH, and network tools.
• Perform root-cause analysis on test anomalies.
• Generate post-test telemetry and test summary reports.
• Improve test cell facilities for faster turnaround and safety.
