Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a highly motivated thermal/structural analyst to work on CFD/FEA for propulsion systems at our Rocket Center, WV site. Responsibilities include model formulation, analysis with Abaqus or Fluent, and interpreting results to guide design of materials and structures.

Level 1 requires a BS in engineering or science with little to no related experience; Level 2 requires 2+ years (MS preferred). US citizenship and ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance are required.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Science is required.
• Level 1 requires 0+ years of related work experience; Level 2 requires 2+ years (MS preferred).
• Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Analysis model formulation and FEA/CFD solution using Abaqus or Fluent.
• Provide technical assessments and design guidance for orthotropic, hyperelastic, and viscoelastic materials.
• Report results in written and oral formats; peer review work products.
• Interface with customers and support personnel in design and testing.
• Travel typically less than once a year.
